changelog

what's new.

update the cli with npm i -g @elmts/cli. the extension updates itself.

0.2.5

agents on other machines are pro and max

  • remote sessions are a paid feature. agents on other machines, through the relay or el link over ssh, need Pro or Max on the machine with the browser. on Free, el link says so and how to upgrade.
0.2.4

one account, and a way to reach us

  • support.elmts.dev. write to us from the support page, or the drawer's ? → contact support. replies show up there as they're sent.
  • one account per email. sign in with github or google: when both confirm the same email, you land in the same account.
  • signed in everywhere. sign in once and elmts.dev, the support page and share links all know it's you. signing out on the websites leaves el signed in.
  • no more element skill. each pick already names the el commands your agent needs, and el help lists the rest. el install and el uninstall remove the skill older versions wrote.
0.2.3

agents on your other machines

  • remote sessions. an agent on a dev box or another laptop on your account shows up in your browser's sessions, and picks go to it. allow a machine once from the toast, or with el allow / el deny. it works both ways, and el link <host> does the same over ssh.
  • help in the drawer. the ? next to esc opens contact support, the docs and what's new.
0.2.0

save & share, accounts and the drawer

  • save & share. hold ⌃⌥ and click any element: it's snapshotted, uploaded and the link is copied. one link works for people (a live page) and agents (markdown with curl). also el share.
  • accounts. sign in with github or google, from the drawer or with el login. Free includes 10 save & shares a month; Pro and Max add more and longer-lasting links.
  • the drawer (⌥⇧S): saves, sessions and settings on any page. search and copy saved links, delete them, and see each link's time left.
  • shared snapshots keep moving. looping css runs on, entrances rest where they ended, and script-driven motion is replayed as css.
  • customizable hotkeys for pick and save, in settings → shortcuts.
  • clear link states. deleted, expired and unknown links each say what happened; link previews unfurl in slack and github.
  • agents reach element through hooks and the el cli, with an element skill for every agent. the mcp server is gone.
  • opencode and muse code. el install --opencode brings chips and screenshots as images to opencode; el install --muse sets up muse code like codex.
  • chips in codex. picks are typed into the codex prompt in tmux, iTerm2 or WezTerm, each codex window is its own session, and the hooks no longer need approving in /hooks.
  • cursor editor. picks are added to chat as file chips, and cursor cli lists waiting picks in its status line.
  • in pi, backspace removes a whole chip.
also in 0.2.0

snapshots

  • el snapshot saves any pick as one self-contained html file that renders the element offline, as it looks on the page.
  • picks from production sites are snapshotted at pick time, and el snapshot --text gives agents a compact text form, in parts past ~60 KB.
  • snapshots capture what you see: overlapping layers, sizes the layout imposes, off-screen and very tall elements. fixed headers and banners stay out.
  • links and forms in snapshots are inert; scripts never run.
  • any number of agent sessions in parallel, free.
0.1.1

on the chrome web store

  • element is on the chrome web store, and the cli is on npm (today as @elmts/cli).
  • works in any chromium browser: chrome, arc, brave, edge, opera, vivaldi, dia and more.
0.1.0

first release

  • hold ⌥ and click to hand elements to your agent: selector, styles, screenshot and source file.
  • claude code and pi show picks as [element #N] chips; codex and cursor get them through hooks.
  • each tab belongs to one agent session, with a switcher on ⌥⇧S.
